The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (Director Oh Yoo-kyung · www.mfds.go.kr ) has implemented this revised labeling and advertising management guideline. “When labeling and advertising the extract content in cosmetics made from extracts, we must refer to labeling and disclosure methods to reduce consumer misunderstanding,” he said, and gave an example of this.


In other words, based on the finished cosmetic product, the content of extracted substances must be indicated and recorded, excluding the content of diluting solvents, etc.


Accordingly, in the future, the content of the extract will be verified by data on the composition of the raw material prepared by separating the extracted material (e.g., green tea extract) and the diluting solvent (e.g., purified water) and data confirming the amount of the raw material used in the product. Should be.


For example, the composition ratio of raw material A is △ purified water 80% △ green tea extract 10% △ C preservative 5% △ D additive 5%, and the finished product composition ratio is △ purified water 60% △ A raw material 20% △ B raw material 10% △ E preservative 3% If △ C preservative 1% △ D additive 1% △ fragrance 5%, it must be written as ‘2% green tea extract’ for accurate labeling and description.
